Tom Cruise is back with his 24-year-old movie!

Tom Cruise is set to return with Days of Thunder. What does the film, which first debuted in 1990, have to offer?

Hollywood action icon Tom Cruise continues to breathe new life into his successful productions. After the great success he achieved with Top Gun: Maverick, he now has his sights set on another classic. The famous actor has begun negotiations for Days of Thunder .

Tom Cruise continues to return to the blockbuster movies of the 1990s. According to the latest claims in the US press, Cruise is in talks to return to his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle, whom he played in the 1990 racing film Days of Thunder.

Days of Thunder was Cruise's first collaboration with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott, in which Cruise plays a NASCAR driver who is discovered by team owner Robert Duvall after a fatal accident.

The film was a box office success at the time, grossing over $150 million worldwide. Although not one of Cruise's biggest hits, Days of Thunder has managed to gain a large audience in the intervening years.

Its realistic portrayal of a NASCAR driver's life was highly acclaimed, and it also inspired newer films like Ford v Ferrari and Top Gun: Maverick. Of course, the box office success of those films may have inspired a sequel to Days of Thunder.

As with any Tom Cruise project, the action and stunts are expected to push the boundaries. However, the sequel is still in the early stages of development and no other crew members are currently involved with the project.
